Coire Ansic issue 7 – Spring & Summer 2024

We can observe that today we primarily hold a rather negative opinion of the concept and activity we call boasting. There is perhaps some justification for such a phenomenon, yet originally boasting had a much more positive meaning. It has been suggested to me that the origins of boasting originate within a form of public celebration or proclamation. If this is true then we can recognise that there is nothing inherently wrong with the announcement of an achievement or in publicly celebrating such. We should all be sharing in the joy and not necessarily spoiling success with green eyed envy.

I am therefore, able to partake in a little public boasting of my own today; I am once again most pleased to announce that I have another short piece in that excellent magazine Coire Ansic. The most recent edition arrived this morning on 24th May 2024 and includes my article ‘Sword and Stone.’ This is a work which deals specifically with the symbolism of such within our own hearth.

At the time of publication the Hearth of the Turning Wheel is in abeyance and the details of that necessity, are outlined in the post below:

This current phase of inactivity in no way demerits the significance of the article itself and I am confident that other practitioners will recognise the suggested keys. Not simply those relating to the physical items named but the mythology of the Sherwood Cycle, Sovereignty and the Hieros Gamos. The publication of this piece during the Maytide is itself most fitting and timely.

Issue number 7 the Spring & Summer edition of 2024, is available now from a variety of outlets and as usual, it can be purchased direct from the publisher via the Etsy link below:
